Where to Stay

Coming from out of town? Vida Vegan has reached out to nearly every hotel we could think of, and are proud to extend the following discounted rates below, as well as a bunch of other recommendations.

Please note that you need to call to arrange your own room, and that these rates are very limited – so make those plans. As we have moved to a new venue and classes are currently in session at PSU, there are no dorms available.

Read on for more information on guesthouses, hostels, and other alternative lodging ideas.

  1. What’s the best deal for parking near by?

    1. Hey Veronica! There is (metered) public parking during the day and several parking lots in the area with varying prices that I would suggest perusing that weekend for the best, current rate. I’ll take a walk around sometime soon and report back, as well. Your best bet may also be to consider a park & ride and taking the MAX, or taking public transit may be your cheapest bet from wherever you are staying, if that is an option. Good luck!

      1. I’m going to be staying at the Red Lion which is across the river. I’ll probably have to drive over each day and park all day. Any all day parking info you’ve come across yet? Thanks so much Jess.

      2. Hi Veronica – If it’s the Red Lion at the convention center, it’s incredibly close to both the streetcar line and the MAX, which will easily take you across the river – but there’s also a bunch of lots within a few blocks of the Art Museum with varying rates – so you’re best bet is to drive over and check out the current rates. I’ve been looking but the rates, as mentioned, have varied. There’s even a lot right at SW Main, I believe, about a block away (it’s open – which will be cheaper than the covered lots around). Good luck!

    2. Hi Veronica,

Here’s a new post with parking details – we went on a little investigation for ya: http://vidavegancon.com/2013/04/15/vvc-2013-getting-to-the-portland-art-museum/
