All right, you’ve registered! Wahoo!
Now, how are you getting here?
Here’s a special post on Getting to the Portland Art Museum.
Some suggestions:
FLY:
Portland International Airport (PDX)
Some tips: It’s typically cheaper to fly midweek, so consider staying a bit longer, and check out alternative airlines, such as Jetblue, Virgin, Spirit, and Southwest for specials.
We’d recommend comparing prices on individual airlines’ websites and travel sites such as Skyscanner, CheapAir (we’re really liking these first two), Expedia, Kayak, Priceline, and Hotwire, being flexible with your dates (if you can), and setting up price alerts and subscribing to TravelZoo and Airfarewatchdog if you’re seeking a bargain.
Trimet’s Red Line MAX line service literally pulls into the airport and is a $2.50 ride into downtown Portland.
TRAIN & BUS:
Union Station is home to Amtrak trains, and the Greyhound Bus Station is located next door. Both are on the Yellow and Green Max lines, and are within blocks of several bus lines. Here are Google Map directions from the station to the Art Museum.
If you’re traveling within the Northwest, Vida Vegan also recommends BoltBus, which offers fares starting at $1 and has stops in Vancouver B.C., Seattle, Portland, and Bellingham.
The Portland BoltBus stop is on SW Salmon between SW 5th & 6th Avenues (and one block south of Veggie Grill, just saying).
